Snow Fort

Luke and Sam found a great use for all of the snow that we received in February...a snow fort! I was a little hesitant to let Sam play inside...what if it caved in? I decided that I needed to get over those fears as a mother of a boy and let him play away (supervised of course). Sam even belly-crawled through a snow tunnel...what an adventurous boy...takes after his Daddy!

Happy 2nd Birthday Samuel James

So we didn't let the big blizzard ruin our party plans and celebrated Sam's 2nd birthday as planned on Saturday. My parents and Luke's family were still able to make it so that was enough of an excuse to have a yummy pasta dinner, cake and ice cream. We went with a Thomas the train theme and Sam was thrilled. The funniest part of the night was either when Sam thought the train toy on the cake was made of cake and tried to eat it OR when Sam went all Cookie Monster with the blue icing from his cake. That boy knows how to make us laugh. We are SO blessed to have Samuel in our family...he is a beautiful boy inside and out and we are grateful to God for another year of being his parents.

20 Weeks Pregnant

I am half-way through this pregnancy and it seems like quite the accomplishment because of how sick I was in the beginning. I am feeling great these days and am enjoying feeling the baby move. Today was my 20 week check-up and the big ultrasound! First, NO we did not find out the gender. The baby looks great, all of the parts are there and working right. This baby is obsessed with their hands and both hands were near the mouth the whole time. We even saw the baby sucking their thumb...so cute! Enjoy the video!

Blizzard 2010

What a special birthday treat for Sam...waking up to a world of snow! We got out there early, shoveled a path to the street and then had some fun. Sam got to walk around on the street and we even walked the couple of blocks to Grandma and Pap Pap's house for a visit. It was a fun morning and the town has never looked so beautiful!
The snow is up to Sam's waist!

Standing at the top of our hill. Notice our two cars on the left completely covered.

Walking on the road to my parents' house...the sidewalks weren't passable yet.

Cereal Eater

I decided that I needed to bite the bullet and let Sam start feeding himself the messier foods like cereal and yogurt. They are so messy and it was just easier for me to feed him...but he is going to be two and there is a new baby on the way...so I figured it was time. He did a great job and seems to think that eating cereal with milk is a real treat!

Christmas Card 2009

I had very good intentions of getting Christmas cards out this year, but it just never happened! My brother-in-law, Aaron, took some wonderful pictures of Samuel that we were going to use. Since they are too cute to waste, I figured I would share them with you here.

2010 Brings...A New Baby!

We are excited to announce that baby #2 is due at the end of June! I am about 16 weeks along and holding out hope that, like with my first pregnancy, my "morning" sickness will be gone any day now! It has been a rough two months being sick, taking care of a toddler and getting ready for Christmas but we are so excited to meet this new little addition to our family. I couldn't have done it without the support of my wonderful husband who has taken over the grocery shopping and most of the housework while I lay on the couch and try to feel better :) Please join us as we pray for the health of this little one that God is knitting inside me.
