Memorial Day 2010

We had a full memorial day weekend...riding Thomas on Friday, wedding on Saturday, cookout on Sunday and then the parade this morning. Sam loved the parade and was waving his little flag at all of the people and fire trucks. One of the best things about living in a small town...

Day out with Thomas

On Friday we drove to Ohio to ride Thomas the Train! I have been looking forward to that day for weeks since I knew that it would be so much fun for our little Thomas lover! Well, it did not disappoint. The train ride was a lot of fun and they had lots of different activities for the kids to do before and after. Sam was so well behaved and other than the heat (and being 36 weeks pregnant) it was a great day!

Wearing his new Thomas hat and official train whistle!

Sir Topham Hatt...Sam was actually not afraid of him!

Big Boy Room/Bed

On Monday we finished Sam's room and he finally got to sleep in his big boy bed! I nervous that he was going to hate it and/or that he would fall out. He did so well! He slept the whole night (and took a good nap the next day) and didn't seem nervous at all about sleeping in a new space. He also didn't fall out! Here are some pictures of the new room. The bunk bed was mine when I was little and everything else was either bought on sale or at a yard sale. There are some good finds in there and I love how it turned out! This is front of the new wall Luke put up...he did such a great job!
We still need to put up the baseboard but you get the idea...

Where is Sam?! He practically blends into his sheets!
First night in big boy bed!

Happy Mother's Day

I am not only blessed with a wonderful mother...but I have the privilege of being Sam's mom. Sam says and does a lot of cute things and I caught a few a video to share with you:

Singing the beloved Thomas song

Dancing (note the foot stomp at the end of the song)

32 Weeks

We are moving right along now! Everything looks good...baby is kicking and heartbeat is strong. We are in full nesting mode (by "we" I mean Luke who is doing all the work as I give orders) getting the nursery ready and I have lots of baby items to locate in the attic...not to mention clothes and car seats to wash, etc. We can't wait to meet our new little one in just a few weeks!

Cousin Play Date

The other day I watched my sister's 10 month old daughter, Layla, for the morning. She and Sam had a lot of fun playing together. Sam was so gentle and loving towards her...it was great to watch and gave me hope for how he might be with his baby brother or sister.

Nursery Remodel

No more door or shelves...looking into Sam's room from nursery

We are turning our office (and smallest bedroom) into a nursery for baby #2. This has proven to be more difficult than Sam's nursery in our first house when we just painted some walls. There was a door that connected the nursery to Sam's room and the nursery had shelving that was REALLY secured to the wall that had to come down. PapPap helped with the shelves, door and molding demo and Uncle Aaron came to help build the new wall (with some help from Sam of course!). Step 1 is completed...now Luke has to mud, sand, paint and put up some new baseboards. Then we can move the nursery furniture in and Sam into his new big boy bed (which we talk about every day to get him ready). Of course I didn't take any "before" pictures...so you will have imagine a door there and shelves on the wall :)

Cutest helper ever!
