Big Brother

Sam isn't the most attentive big brother (yet) but when he does acknowledge Levi, he is so sweet and affectionate.

First Family Photo

This took about 10 takes before we got Sam to stop kissing or "patting" Levi!

Look at that face...and all of that hair! The more we look at him,
the more we think he looks a lot different than Sam!

pictures at last!

Levi John Good

Levi was born at 2:17 p.m. after only about 35 minutes of pushing! This was significantly shorter than the 2-1/2 hours that Sam took! Levi is 8 lbs and yet to be measured ("the nursery does that") but he is healthy as can be and in my humble opinion, is perfect.

Pics are taking forever to upload so I'll try again in a bit. -Luke

push!

trish thought the epidural wasn't doing its job, so she called in the nurse. nurse says it's time to push! Here we go!

update

Trisha is now 8cm dilated and the baby's head is moving down into position.

in which the labor begins

We arrived at the hospital around 6:20 this morning because Trish's doctor suggested that she get "p-gel" in order to move the labor process along, since she is 4 days overdue. Not a full induction but something to get the ball rolling. Well, it did, and now she is definitely in labor. I'm sitting in the waiting room temporarily while she gets her epidural, and will try to post a couple times throughout the day, obviously with pictures after the baby arrives. Probably won't post anything on facebook until after the baby arrives, so if you're interested in updates, check back here at the blog. More later... (written by Luke)

Plan of Action

Tomorrow I will go into the hospital at 6:30am to get the "p gel" to see if that will start my labor. I will be there for 3-4 hours and if nothing happens I will be sent home to keep waiting! :) We are keeping our fingers crossed and will post if my labor starts! Thanks for all of your support and prayers...keep them coming!

40 + Weeks

Ugh, I was hoping I wouldn't have to write this post but here it is! Today I go in for an ultrasound to check my fluid and then a visit with the doctor to see if there has been any progress and to make a plan of action. They told me last week that they won't let me go longer than 1 week (which I guess is their policy for everyone now), which means the baby will be here one way or another by Friday. I am still hoping to go into labor naturally but we will see. My friend Bethie told me I should do one more belly picture before it was too late...so here it is!

Carnival

Last year at this time we had just moved into our new house in Beaver and it has been a wonderful year living here. Tonight we enjoyed the annual town carnival which I have been going to since I was a kid. Sam at first refused to ride anything...even the merry-go-round with his Dad! He just wanted to "look" at all of the rides. Somehow, one of the workers convinced him to go on a ride that I never even thought he would consider (spinning tea cup kind of ride)! After that he was warmed up and rode the motorcycles and the boats. He looked so serious during the rides and would only smile when we yelled his name to get his attention. I think he was trying to figure out how everything works...silly boy!

Father's Day 2010

Our church was doing a special father/son fishing event after the service today. They have a lake that they stocked with fish and invited everyone to spend the afternoon fishing. I think Luke cast his line a few times but when nothing happened Sam got a bit bored. We were also worried about him falling/running into the lake, so that didn't make for a relaxing day of fishing. It was fun while it lasted though and I got some great pictures to remember the day. Luke is a wonderful father...I couldn't ask for a better one for my boy and the baby on the way!

Rainy Day

No baby yet! We did get lots of rain today and a great opportunity for Sam and Luke to run around and get soaking wet. Here are some pictures...Sam was freezing but refused to come in. I think he loved it and hated it all at the same time!

38+ weeks - Baby #2

Things are starting to come together now. We have the nursery ready, clothes washed, hospital bag packed, pack-n-play in living room (for napping baby) and car seat ready to be installed. The only thing we are not ready with is a boy name (and no, we aren't telling what girl name(s) we are considering). Honestly, if this is a boy, I have no idea what we will name him...I blame Luke, he blames me...we just can't agree! :) Dr. visit went well today, I am 3 cm. dilated so at least we know that things are moving along. I am feeling very tired and awkward and not sleeping very well so I have a feeling that the end is near. The baby is moving around like crazy still which has been reassuring but really uncomfortable. Keep checking the blog (and facebook)...I plan to have Luke blog the birth like he did with Sam!

Nursery Remodel - Complete!

Luke did a great job finishing the nursery. Everything has a fresh coat of paint and all of the furniture is set up and ready to go. I even got all of the baby's laundry done...now all we need is the baby! We are using the same nursery decorations that we had with Sam but instead of the nursery being yellow, we changed it up and picked a green this time (dill pickle green to be exact). I love the way it turned out and it looks like a different nursery to me (well, it is a different nursery...but you know what I mean).

36 Weeks - Baby #2

So my counting has been a bit off these past few months...so instead of being 36 weeks on Monday I am really almost 37 weeks and will actually be full-term on Friday...but you get the idea, right?! Everything looked good at my Dr. appointment this morning and the baby is head down which is always a good thing. I start my weekly appointments next week so I should know next Monday if I am dilated or anything like that. I am not getting my hopes up, but Sam was 11 days early so I am hoping this baby follows suit. I am feeling good...just very tired and very hot! Nursery should be done in the next day or so and then I will start the baby's laundry. I hope to be done with everything by this weekend!
