Trick or Treat

Sam was really excited to wear his Dino costume for another night. He also loved carrying his dino flashlight and his pumpkin bucket. First we had him help pass out the candy to the kids...he was kinda helpful until he realized he could put all of the candy in his bucket. We then took a walk to Grandma and PapPap's and stopped at some houses along the way. He did say "trick-or-treat" at most of the houses and would say thank you when I prompted him. I was really impressed how well he did...he wasn't afraid of any of the scary masks or decorations. It was a really fun night!

Dino on Parade

Oh my Dino!

Modeling the tail and awesome wings...maybe he is a flying dino?

Sam's first time in the Halloween parade! I always loved walking in this as a kid and was so excited that Sam could be part of the fun this year. Grandma and PapPap bought him the cutest Dino costume ever! He wasn't too excited about his hands being covered by the claws...but he wore the hat the whole time...so that was enough for me. He even got to walk in the parade with his cousin Layla!
Sam the Dino (almost 21 months), Layla the Ladybug (almost 4 months)

We were bringing up the rear of the parade and the
fire trucks were behind us...he was more interested in them.
As you can see, I had to keep him on track!

Carving Pumpkins

Sam sure loves pumpkins...so fall has been a great season for him! This week Luke and I carved the two big pumpkins that we bought and let Sam color his smaller one. We did let him pull out the "guts" of one of the bigger pumpkins. I wasn't sure how he would respond...but he loved it! The pumpkin was so big that at one point he had his whole arm in it trying to pull out (and eat) the seeds!

Fall Fun

A few weeks ago we went to a pumpkin farm with our MOPS group. Sam loved seeing all of the pumpkins, riding in the wagons and taking a hay ride.

5 Years

Five years ago, on an Indian Summer day like this, Luke and I were married. It has been 5 great years learning and growing together. He is such a wonderful husband to me and father to Sam! I love you Luke and can't wait to spend the weekend (in Deep Creek! alone!) celebrating our anniversary!

A New Blog!

Well, it is not really a new blog for me, but a college friend of mine has started a great blog that has some amazing ideas for all of us moms (and dads) out there! She was even kind enough to ask me to contribute occasionally (although she is much more creative than me so I never have much to contribute!). Well today she is doing a custom hat/mittens giveaway! Go over to her site and enter to win...but take a look around too...there is lots of cute and useful information over there!

McConnell's Mill

We spent a beautiful fall afternoon at McConnell's Mill park on Monday. We walked all the way down the hill to see the mill and the waterfall, walked across the wooden bridge and down the trail along the creek. Sam loved the water and trees and was such a trooper...he walked the whole way...even all the way back up the hill to the parking lot. It was a lot of walking for such a little man! He definitely has his father's genes...loving the outdoors! When I said this to Sam he pointed at Luke's jeans and then his jeans. Funny kid, huh?!

Parade

Sam saw his first parade a couple of weeks ago in town. It was the homecoming parade for our high school...complete with lots of football players and firetrucks. The sound was deafening but Sam didn't seem to mind!
