Handmade Present

I saw an article in a Family Fun magazine about felt food and decided I had to try and make it. I enlarged the pattern so that they weren't so small and went to work. They were really easy to make and I had a lot of fun doing it. Now they are all wrapped and waiting for Levi to open Christmas morning! Here is the link if you are interested in giving it a try:

Christmas Train

Sam loves trains so I thought it would be fun to start a new tradition of building a gingerbread train for Christmas. It looked SO cute on the box but I have to say they are really setting up people (mostly parents) for a big let down. There is no way (with the materials given...especially the icing) that I could make it even sorta resemble the picture on the box. Luke had to keep reminding me that wasn't the point...Sam was having a blast and thought it was the best thing ever and there I was acting like the Grinch because my icing was dripping everywhere. Finally, I gave up and just had fun with it. I think this is a new tradition in the Good house!

O Christmas Tree

We had the best intentions this year on continuing the "cut your own" Christmas tree tradition. We went to a local tree farm in sub zero temps, took the wagon into the fields and walked around aimlessly trying to find a tree. There were literally three (pathetic) Douglas Fir trees left. We gave up and decided to drive an additional 15 minutes away from home to another tree farm. Levi slept in the car with Luke while Sam and I decided to just pick a tree from the pre-cut area. I found a worker and he held up tree and after tree for me until I found one that I liked. Lots of money later (sigh) we had the perfect tree...but not the perfect tree finding adventure. Oh well, there is always next year! Sam is watching the train, Levi is watching me...normal day at our house!

Great Mommy Blog

One of my bestest friends from college has a great blog where she talks about all things Mommy. She also has some great ideas for doing fun crafts and activities with her toddler. She is doing a great giveaway today...check it out:

Daddy's Boy vs. Mama's Boy

So Sam doesn't really like me much these days...he only wants his Daddy. He got hurt last night and I thought "ok, now he will want me." Nope...only wanted Daddy to comfort him. In some ways it is sweet to see the close relationship that the are forming BUT it is hard to not take it personally. I almost cried about it last night. He is 2.5 years old going on 10 it seems and I just feel like he is so grown up already and doesn't need me anymore. I am hoping he outgrows this stage soon.
Then there is Levi who screams and cries when I am out of the house (for 1.5 hours for Luke the other night) and only seems to be happy when I am holding him or he can see me. He is without a doubt a Mama's boy! So I am really trying to enjoy this time right now because it won't be too long till he wants to wrestle with Daddy :)

Runs in the Family...

My older sister often does this with her lips. Sam did it when he was a baby, now I caught Levi doing it too. Too cute!

Levi - 4 Months

Levi is 4 months old! He is such a happy, happy baby! He loves to coo and talk to us...he is more talkative than Sam was at this age which, if you know Sam now, is scary! He is a Mama's boy and loves to be held and talked to. He smiles and laughs at us and his big brother. We just transitioned him to his crib and he is only nursing once during the night, still every two hours during the day, and is getting into a nap routine. This boy just lights up our life!

Levi 4 Month Stats:
17 lbs, 4 oz (90th percentile!! - Sam was 14.5 lbs)
25.5 inches (75th percentile)

PITT, Let's Go Pitt!

My mom got tickets to the Pitt game and asked me to go with her this past Saturday. Not only did I get an afternoon to myself, I got to relive (kinda) my days as a Pitt student! We had great seats, a great time and they won!

Happy Halloween

Fall Festival/Parade

On Saturday in town they had a fall festival where the kids can trick-or-treat at the businesses. Then on Wednesday they had a Halloween parade down the main street. We took part in both of these events this year and Sam had a great time!Cousin Layla as "The Sock Monkey"

Brothers Gotta Hug!

Luke taught Sam the great line from the movie Tommy Boy. "Brothers don't shake hands, brothers gotta hug!" It is so funny to hear Sam say this to us (and Levi). He is such a sweet, gentle older brother.

Fall Fun

This past weekend we went to Pumpkinland at Janoski's farm. It was a beautiful, sunny day and we had so much fun picking pumpkins with our boys. Sam loved seeing all of the different kinds of pumpkins and Levi slept soundly in the Moby.

Here is the birth announcement we sent out for Levi. We weren't able to send them out to everyone that we wanted to so I thought I would post it here for everyone to see!

Levi - 3 Months

Levi is three months old today! Our little man is such a big boy. He is wearing 3-6 month clothes and some 6 month outfits. He loves to smile and "talk", especially for his mama. Levi is getting really good at holding his head up and is starting to like tummy time. He is starting to sleep through the night and is also starting to get into a nap routine during the day. We love our little "Leev-ster" (as Sam likes to call him)!
