Levi definetely doesn't have the vocabulary that Sam did at this age (20 months)...but he does have his own funny way of communicating. He says a lot of "dat, daaaat"...when he is pointing to things that he wants to show us. We aren't quite sure what it means, but he doesn't seem to care. For the first time this week he said his first two words together (other than thank you)..."bye brother" and then "snack please". I am not surprised about the snack one...that boy loves to eat and probably realized that "snack please" was his most useful phrase! Isn't that pic of him cute?! He woke up like that...no hair product needed.

Sam - 4 Years Old
I don't know what it is about the age of 4...but Sam seems more like a little man that a preschooler these days. He is starting to get taller and thin out...losing all of that baby pudge (except for those chubby cheeks which I hope will stay for a few more years). We celebrated his actual birthday with a day of fun around town with just our immediate family (bakery, library, toy store). Then on the weekend we had a Cars themed party with the extended family (both Pap and Dad were in bed with the flu!). Sam still loves all things trains...and recently discovered another line of trains, Chuggington, and now wants all of those trains too. We often find Sam hunched over his trains creating stories for them, dancing/singing with his brother or asking to read some of his favorite books. We have been reading The Mouse and the Motorcycle at nights and Sam is showing some interest in learning to read. Sam's best friend these days are Levi...and it is so fun to watch those two together. There is more laughter than fighting (for now) and they really do play so well together. I really am just amazed at my first born boy...at what he knows, the things he says and the compassion that he has for people. I am just so thankful that God has blessed us with Sam!

Levi - 18 Months
Levi is 18 months and he is a very busy little boy. He has a big personality and is always getting into something...no house is baby-proofed enough to keep him out of trouble! His best friend is his big brother Sam and he is always imitating everything he does. It is so fun to watch their relationship develop at such a young age. Like Sam, he is also a Daddy's boy and asks for him every morning (and pretty much all through the day). Levi is not interested in little boy toys anymore and plays cars and trains with Sam all day long. Levi loves food, cell phones, Daddy, Pap Pap and brushing his teeth! He will pretty much repeat any word you say to him but a few of his favorites are: ball, teeth, waffle, car, bye-bye, Daddy, Pap Pap, nana(food) and shoes. Levi is just so lovable and sweet and we just love him so much!
18 Month Stats:
26 lbs, 8 oz. (jumped from 25 to 50%)
31 inches

Sam and Levi Reading
So the video quality isn't great, but I just had to share this. Sam is reading (from memory) a book to Levi and Levi responds with "no" at all of the right places. My sweet, sweet boys!

Halloween Fun
This year for Halloween we went with a Thomas theme (again...) and this time Levi got in on the fun! Luke, my very talented hubby, made a great Troublesome Truck out of cardboard and attached it to Levi's push car. This way Sam (aka Thomas) was "shunting" (train talk) Levi. We did both the parade and trick-or-treating in our neighborhood and the kids had so much fun!
