Parade

Sam saw his first parade a couple of weeks ago in town. It was the homecoming parade for our high school...complete with lots of football players and firetrucks. The sound was deafening but Sam didn't seem to mind!

Shopping

Sam is into shopping these days. I am not sure if he just likes saying shopping or if he really likes to go. Yesterday when I asked him where we go shopping...he said Target. Today I was looking at something on my computer (Sam was on my lap) when the Target logo and word appeared on the page (seen above). Sam looked right at it and said Target! I couldn't get over that he actually knew that was Target. I do know that part of Target's draw is that they have big red cement balls in the front of their store that Sam loves...it's like a mini playground to him! So I think that we either shop at Target too much or that he loves it just as much as his mama. I am going with the latter :)

Everybody Dance Now

Sam loves to dance. Today he was in the toddler room at church while I was at MOPS. When I came to pick him up, he was dancing to the music from a movie they were showing. He danced, spun around in circles, fell over and kept saying "fun, fun". He was having so much fun that he wouldn't come to me so one of the workers had to pick him up and bring him to me. His dancing made my morning! Here is a video of him dancing while Luke played the guitar a few weeks ago.

Ketchup!

Sam has discovered ketchup. I have been putting off the introduction because I figured once he had it...he would want it with everything! He was not interested in dinner last night and just wanted grapes. So in order to get him to eat something other than just fruit we gave him some ketchup to eat with his french fries. He liked it so much that he continued to eat the ketchup with his fingers when there was nothing left to dip in it!

Labor Day Picnic

Sam (19 Months), Layla (2 Months)

It has become a tradition that we do a day-long picnic at a local park for Labor Day. This year it was rainy and miserable, so we had to move it my sister's house. We ate lots of yummy food and got to spend a few minutes here and there playing outside. Sam played in the rain for the first time and just loved it...he also got his first picture with his cousin Layla. It was a fun day spent with family.
This is his football stance "set"

Living Treasures

On Friday Luke took a vacation day and we went to the Living Treasures Animal Park near New Castle. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was a really nice place and Sam just loved seeing all of the animals up close. The ducks followed us around, Sam fed the bears, he learned some new animal names (llama) and he even got to pet a few of the tamer animals. Sam was such a big boy walking around the whole park...we didn't even need to bring the stroller!

Typical Morning

Every morning Sam is anxious to get out of his crib and explore his room and it has become a bit of a routine. If you try to change his diaper or get him dressed before he has a chance to play...you are met with an unhappy boy! So we give him some time and he looks out the window at the big trucks (they are doing construction on a nearby street), reads his favorite books and plays with Peepup and Doggie. I love those moments with him in the morning!
